Izzy Mack named VaSID All-State

The Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) named a College Division All-State team for the first time in 2020. Sophomore Izzy Mack earned 2nd team honors after a record setting season swimming distance freestyle events.

Mack earned a trio of runner-up finishes at the 2020 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Swim Championships. For her efforts at the championship meet, the Asheville (N.C.) native posted season best times in the 500, 1000, and 1650 Freestyle events. On the opening night of the Championships, Mack was a part of a 800 Freestyle Relay team that set a scholl record with a time of 7:50.23.

All three swims were the second fasted times in the ODAC for 2019-20. In the 500, Mack touched in 5:07.43 while posting a time of 10:32.37 in the 1000. The longest swim of the meet, the 1650 Freestyle, Izzy was able to once again finish runner-up and her time of 17:31.34 was fast enough to earn the second-year swimmer a "B" cut for the 2020 NCAA DIII National Swim Championships.

The All-State honor comes on the heels of a 1st team All-ODAC selection in 2020.
