RC Women Finish Third, Men Seventh at ODAC Championships

Location: Bridgewater, Va.

The Lead: The Roanoke College Women's Track & Field team placed third and the men's team finished seventh at the 2018 Old Dominion Athletic Conference Championships at Bridgewater College.

How it Happened

Women's Highlights

  • Quinn Harlan captured the ODAC Championship in the 100m with a time of 12.00, just two-hundredths of a second shy of the meet record set by RC alum JaLeesa Osborne. For her efforts, she was named the ODAC Women's Rookie of the Year. 
  • Harlan also finished second in the 200m with a time of 25.34.
  • Emily Ball placed third in the 400m with a time of 1:00.70.
  • Jennifer Calascione was crowned league champion in the discus with a toss of 39.96m. Nicole Moughrabi finished second and Jayna Jean-Jules was fourth.
  • The 4 x 100 M team of Bailey Parks, Claire Aurand, Alison Moreau and Harlan won the ODAC Championship with a time of 48.92.
  • Nicole Moughrabi won the ODAC Hammer Throw Championship with a mark of 41.00 M / 134' 6". Elizabeth Knudsen came in second with a throw of 39.85m.
  • Knudsen was third in the javelin with a throw of 30.88m and Grace Carll was fourth with a 30.20.
  • Jennifer Barthol was fifth in the 5k with a personal best time of 18:36.50.
  • Mara Briggs' 1.69 M / 5' 6.5" in the high jump earned her conference championship honors.
  • Claire Trotto finished second in the pole vault with a 3.25m and Louise Tester was tied for third with a mark of 3.00m.

Men's Highlights

  • The men's 4 x 400m relay team of Aaron Rogers, Xavier O'Brien, Mykal Dawkins and Micha Ray placed third with a time of 3:23.34.
  • Ray was fourth in the 400m with a time of 49.18.
  • Howard Daniels was fifth in the 10,000m with a time of 32:58.68.
  • O'Brien was fourth in the 400m hurdles with a time of 55.75.
  • Tanner Burton was third in the 110m after clocking a 15.27.
  • Corbin Turner's 4.12m in the pole vault was good for second-place.
