The Lead: Both Roanoke Cross Country teams took part in the Gettysburg Invitational on Saturday.

How it Happened

• The men's top finisher was Peter Smith, who finished the mud-filled course in a time of 27:10.6 which was good for 31st place.
• Nathaniel Willis and Tyler Wilson posted times of 28:29.4 and 29:24.3, respectively on the 8k course.
• On the women's side, Hannah Koepfinger was the first Maroon woman to cross the finish line with a time of 26:08.9.
• Alexis Mattson finished with a time of 26:41.8, while Allison Barthol had a time of 27:31.1.
• The women finished 21st in the 30 team field, while the men placed 15th of 28 teams. Both races featured teams from all three divisions.

Up Next: Roanoke will take part in the 2018 ODAC Championships on Oct. 27 in Winchester, Va.
