A member of the Roanoke soccer and lacrosse teams at Roanoke (1975-79), Allison was a proven leader on the field for the Maroon and Gray.

A 1978 All-South and All-ODAC soccer player, Allison was the recipient of the Jeffrey Childs Willis Award (Soccer MVP) as a senior.  He was also an All-Virginia Intercollegiate Soccer Association (VISA) selection in 1975, ’76, and ’78. 

A member of the 1978 National Championship lacrosse team, Allison captained both the soccer and lacrosse teams in his final year and was named the 1979 Roanoke Outstanding Male Athlete of the Year.

Since 1986, Allison has served as the head women's tennis, men's lacrosse and men's soccer coach at Roanoke.  He has been the Director of Athletics at Roanoke since 1989.

In 1987 and ’88, he earned the ODAC Men’s Lacrosse Coach of the Year award.  He earned the ODAC Men’s Soccer Coach of the Year in 1988, '93, '01-'02, '04 and '08.  In his career, he had 259 wins, more than any other coach in school-history.

In 1993, Allison not only earned ODAC Men's Soccer Coach of the Year, but South Region Coach of the Year, as well, leading his team to the national quarterfinals and a school-record 20 wins with only four losses.  He coached the NSCAA Div. III National Player of the Year, Dustin Fonder.
