Originally from Villanova, PA, Dittman starred for the Roanoke College women’s lacrosse team from 1989 until her graduation in 1992.  While at Roanoke, Dittman recorded 144 points on 115 goals and 29 assists landing her in the program’s top 10 all-time leading scorer. At the time, her goal total was the eighth best number in team history. Dittman made her final season as a Maroon a special one. After leading the Maroons to a perfect 7-0 record in conference play, Dittman was named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Player of the Year, the fifth Maroons in as many years to receive the award.

Unfortunately for the Maroons, they did not win the conference championship that season, but still managed a berth in the NCAA tournament. Roanoke defeated Frostburg State in the First Round, advancing to the Final Four where they lost to eventual champion Trenton State. Following the season, Dittman, who finished the 1992 season with 53 goals and eight assists for 61 points, was named a First Team All-American by the United States Women’s Lacrosse Association (USWLA).
