Reid Duncan

Regarded as one of Roanoke’s greatest athletes, Duncan won 16 letters; five in football as a halfback, four in basketball as a guard, four as a center fielder in baseball, and three in track as a sprinter, relay man, hurdler and pole vaulter.

Captained the 1916 teams of football and baseball; 1915-16, track team and in 1917 was awarded the Most Outstanding Athlete at Roanoke.  He also served as President of the student body.

From 1922-25, head coach of Roanoke City Public Schools, winning state championships in football, basketball, and baseball.
