A two-sport standout for the Roanoke athletic department, McGlynn was a five-time All-ODAC selection during her four years in Salem, earning three lacrosse awards and two in field hockey.

As a sophomore, McGlynn was both a First Team All-ODAC pick in both lacrosse and field hockey, a feat she would repeat a year later. Following her second season playing for the lacrosse team, McGlynn earned the first of her three All-Region selections. After garnering First Team All-ODAC honors as a senior, her third consecutive appearance on the squad, McGlynn was named to the First Team All-American squad.

In her junior and senior seasons, McGlynn helped the Maroons to their first two women’s lacrosse ODAC championships. She was also a junior of Roanoke’s 1987 field hockey team that played for the ODAC championship, the first time the Maroon program had ever competed in the contest.
