Roanoke Drops Two to Washington & Lee

LEXINGTON, Va. ---The Roanoke College baseball team dropped both games in an ODAC doubleheader against Washington & Lee on Saturday, 5-3, 6-0. The Generals now hold a 14-2 series record over the Maroons. Roanoke fell to 6-11 overall and 1-4 in the conference while W&L improved to 13-4.

Junior Noah Davidson had five hits in the doubleheader including a double in the first game. Davidson and Brad Greenway went 3-for-4 and 2-for-3 respectively in game two. Also collecting hits in the contests were Jordan McGraner and Chris Zachodzki with one knock apiece.
 
Graham Thacker went 3-for-3 in game one and recorded two stolen bases. Thacker is one shy from tying Davidson for seventh all-time career stolen bases (9).
 
The General's offense was led by Plantholt who had three hits for three RBI and two runs. The designated hitter, Peyster went 3-for-4 in game two with one run scored. Davidson struck out six batters in the game one victory while Clark earned the win of the second game for the Generals. Clark also struck out six batters.
 
Cody Kidd (1-3) pitched six innings and was credited with the loss in game one of the doubleheader. In the second matchup, Chris Caputo (3-1)struck out two batters in five innings of play and received his first loss of the season.  John Terklesky also saw three innings on the mound and allowed only one walk.
 
Roanoke will travel to Emory on Tuesday, Mar. 24 for its second matchup vs. the Wasps. The Maroons lost their first meeting earlier this season, 13-9 at Salem Memorial Field. Roanoke holds a 9-5 series record against the Wasps. Game time is scheduled for 3 p.m.
