Keating, Manthe Take Home ODAC Weekly Honors
Jeff Keating (Chatham, NJ, Chatham) (Men's Lacrosse) and Mark Manthe (Blacksburg, VA, Blacksburg) (Baseball) were named ODAC Player of the Week for their respective sports announced this afternoon. It's the second time this season that Keating has earned the award. For Manthe, it's the first time in his career and the third Maroon baseball player this spring to garner the weekly honor.

As the third Maroon laxer to earn the weekly award, Keating totaled 17 points (7g, 10a) leading the men to a 3-0 mark last week. He netted a week-best three goals along with three assists in the 19-10 win over Washington and Lee, which was undefeated in the ODAC and received votes in the USILA Top-20 poll. In limited minutes against Randolph, the New Jersey native produced two goals and three helpers in the 23-7 decision against Randolph. A day later, the junior had a goal and a game-best four assists in the 14-13 triumph at #17 Cabrini.

The Maroons are currently 10-3 on the season, clinching their third-straight 10-win season; eight in the last nine years. Roanoke, which maintained the eighth spot in the USILA Top-20 Poll, is atop the ODAC standings with a 5-0 mark.

Manthe, a Blacksburg product, led his team to a 3-1 record last week. He batted .529 at the plate (9-of-17) with five runs, three doubles and eight RBI. He collected a career-bests of four hits, three runs and five RBI in a 16-8 ODAC-victory over Emory & Henry. Manthe smacked two doubles, going 3-for-4 with two RBI in the non-conference win against Virginia Intermont.

For the season, Manthe leads the Maroons in hitting (.304), games played (31), starts (31), runs (17), hits (34), doubles (11), home runs (3), RBI (24) and total bases with 54. For his career, Manthe is ranked among the best at Roanoke in hits (64-15th), home runs (4-13th), runs batted in (40-16th).

The baseball program is currently 12-19, already the most wins since the 2008 season. They are 3-12 in the ODAC, but have won three of their last four games, including an upset victory as they upended Hampden-Sydney, 7-6.
