Mark Manthe named ODAC Baseball Player of the Week
Mark Manthe was named ODAC Baseball Player of the Week announced Monday evening.  It is the second time in his career and the fifth Maroon ever to garner the weekly award.

Manthe, a junior first basemen, hit .563 (9-for-16) over the past week and provided the Maroons with the program's biggest victory in the 11-year history of the program over #11 Alvernia. With two down and the score tied in the bottom of the seventh inning, Manthe clubbed a homer over the left field wall for a walk-off 3-2 win. The homer marked his second of the season.

Roanoke went 3-1 on the week as Manthe collected three multi-hit games. He slapped three doubles, scored five runs and drove in eight more while drawing a pair of walks.

The Maroons recently had a program-best five-game win-streak snapped against #11 Alvernia in the second game of last Saturday's doubleheader.  Their record currently stands at 5-6 and will travel to Danville to take on non-conference in-state foe, Averett University.  Game time is scheduled for 2 p.m.
