Milligan Pulls Away late to knock off Roanoke in Baseball Action
MILLIGAN COLLEGE, Tenn. --- Roanoke gave up 11 runs in the final three innings to lose, 12-2 to Milligan (TN) in a non-divisional contest in Tennessee Tuesday evening.  The Maroons slip back below .500 to 8-9 while the Buffalos improve to 12-14 overall.
 
Roanoke, winners of eight of the last 11 games coming into the contest, scored two runs in the top of the sixth inning to take a 2-1 lead.  Michael Haslam (1-3), went six innings and pitched a solid game as he finished with two strikeouts on the night.
 
In the bottom of the sixth, the Buffalos scored three runs off Haslam to regain the lead, 4-2 as the junior pitcher was done for the night after six complete innings of work.
 
Milligan, an NAIA school, added four runs in the bottom of the seventh and four more in the eighth to pull away for the victory.  The Maroons committed five errors over this span to help the Buffalos cause.
 
Ben Amos and Matt Wallman led the Maroons with two hits each.  Amos and Bradley Mattox scored both runs for Roanoke as Casey Miller had the only RBI of the game for the visitors.
 
The men will return to action on Thursday, March 15 as they host Averett in an in-state non-conference showdown.  Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Kiwanis Field.
