SALEM --- Emory & Henry scored four runs in the final three innings to knock off Roanoke, 4-3 in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) baseball action Wednesday night.  The Maroons are now 12-14 overall, 3-5 in the ODAC.  Emory & Henry (8-16, 6-4 ODAC) swept the season series as the Wasps pick up their first series sweep of the year in conference play.
 
Roanoke started the game with runs in the first and second frames. A RBI-double in the first by Mark Manthe highlighted the first two frames. The Maroons made the score 3-0 in the bottom of the fourth on a sacrifice fly by Matt Wallman.
 
E&H held the Maroons scoreless from there on and got on the board in the top of the seventh to close the gap to 3-2. A triple by junior first baseman Logan Ball drove in a run while a groundout by senior designated hitter Jesse Blizzard plated the other.
 
The Wasps took the lead in the eighth. A RBI single up the middle by sophomore shortstop Ricky Sowers and a wild pitch proved to be the difference in the game.  They took advantage of four RC errors which resulted in the come-from-behind victory.
 
Joe Washburn picked up the complete game victory for the Wasps, scattering seven hits and five walks over nine innings of work while striking out four. Cameron Holshouser (1-1) took the loss in relief for Roanoke, while Dalton Altizer pitched seven complete innings with four strikeouts in the no decision effort.
 
Alexander Crittenden was two-for-two with a walk, a double and two runs on the night to lead the Maroons offensively.  Caylen Baire went 2-for-4 while Ben Amos collected a base hit and scored a run.
 
The men return to action on Saturday, March 31 as they host Lynchburg in a big ODAC doubleheader.  Game time is scheduled for noon at Kiwanis Field.
