FOREST, Va. --- Randolph-Macon College first baseman Jordan Walton and Bridgewater College right-hander Kevin Chandler headline the 2012 All-ODAC Baseball Awards as the ODAC Player and ODAC Pitcher of the Year, respectively.  Emory & Henry College mentor Trey McCall was tabbed the ODAC Coach of the Year, and Hampden-Sydney College righty Zach Whitaker earned ODAC Rookie of the Year accolades.  Lynchburg College catcher Zach Fitzpatrick was named the ODAC/Farm Bureau Insurance Scholar-Athlete in a vote of the league's sports information directors.
 
Two Roanoke College freshmen were slated with All-ODAC Honors.  Outfielder Brian Kluge was tabbed with first-team honors, while pitcher Dalton Altizer received the third-team nod.
 
Kluge, a Roanoke native, was one of the best hitters for the Maroon squad.  He led the team in runs scored (34) and doubles (14).  Kluge batted .360 with a slugging percentage of .512, both ranking second on the team.  He also ranked second in total bases with 64.  Kluge was a perfect 3-for-3 in stolen bases and held a fielding percentage of 1.000.
 
Altizer, from Riner, VA, was a top hurler for the Maroons in 2012.  He boasted a 3-1 record with a 2.75 ERA.  Altizer had four starts in the season with six appearances.  He also pitched two complete game victories.  He only gave up 18 runs off 39 hits on the season.  Altizer struck out 20 batters in 39.1 innings pitched.  His opponents had the lowest batting average against any Roanoke pitcher (.253).
