The Quakers scored three more runs over the course of the contest, including a home run to right center field by Arovits.  Earlham claimed game number one by the score of 4-1.

The Maroons started to rally in the bottom of the sixth inning, as Bradley Mattox led off with a single.  He was followed by a double from Boonewell Hagy.  Mark Manthe also reached base by way of an RBI single, scoring Mattox on the play.  Clifton followed by reaching on a fielder's choice that plated Hagy.  With the score tied at 3-3, and the bases loaded, Reece Kingery stood in for a walk, allwing Clifton to score, and Roanoke to take a 4-3 lead.  Brian Kluge hit a two RBI single to keep the inning alive, and putting the Maroons ahead 6-3.  Mattox hit his second single of the inning, loading the bases.  He was followed by Hagy who hit a two RBI single, then Manthe with a two RBI double.  After the bottom of the sixth, Roanoke had built a 10-3 lead over the Quakers.
