Three Maroons Named ODAC Players of The Week
FOREST – Three Roanoke College spring sport athletes were named Old Dominion Athletic Conference Player of the Week, announced Monday afternoon.  Briell Smith (Women's Tennis), Austin Gregory (Baseball) and Richard Lachlan (Men's Lacrosse) were all recipients of the award.

BRIELL SMITH – Women's Tennis
Smith, a freshman from Locust Valley, NY, earned her first ODAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week honor.  During the week, she picked up two singles victory and one doubles win.  On April 16th, Smith won a singles match over #20 Bridgwater College's Brittany Wilson 6-1; 6-1.  On Sunday, in the ODAC Quarterfinals, she was part of two matches in the Maroons 5-0 win over Randolph College.  She won in singles 6-3; 6-0 and doubles 8-2.  Smith holds an 8-0 record in singles matches against ODAC opponents

AUSTIN GREGORY – Baseball
Gregory, a Roanoke native, picked up two wins and one save in the last week.   In a single game against Lynchburg College, he earned the victory, pitching two innings, only giving up two hits and striking out two for the Maroons 4-3 win.  Against Eastern Mennonite, a double-header that held the Maroons fate in the ODAC Tournament, Gregory posted a win and a save.  In the first game, he pitched 2.2 innings, only giving up one run and four hits, holding off the Royals in the 6-5 win.  In the second game, he came in for two more innings, giving up no runs, and keeping EMU at bay again, for a 4-2 victory.  The Maroons are now headed to their first ODAC Baseball Tournament since 2004.

RICHARD LACHLAN – Men's Lacrosse
Lachlan, a Senior from Port Coquitlam, British Columbia, picks up his second consecutive and third overall Player of the Week nod this season.  In the past week, Lachlan finished with six points, including four goals and two assists.  Against Guilford, he finished with one goal and two assists.  However, his best performance came against Washington and Lee, where he finished with three goals.  His third goal was the game winner, defeating the #9 Generals and the third ranked team in the last six games.  The Maroons went 9-0 in the ODAC regular season and has clinched the #1 seed in the ODAC Tournament.
