Gregory, Manthe Named to 2013 Baseball All-ODAC Teams
FOREST – Two Roanoke College baseball players were named to the All-ODAC Team announced Friday.  Sophomore Austin Gregory was named to Second Team All-ODAC, while senior Mark Manthe earned Third Team accolades.

In Matt McGuire's first year at the helm of the Maroon baseball program, Roanoke tallied a school-record 18 wins, as well as a school-record 10 ODAC victories.  The squad closed out the regular season with six wins in the last seven games, securing a 10-10 mark in the ODAC.  With that conference record, the Maroons were able to earn the sixth seed in the Roanoke's first ODAC Baseball Tournament since the 2004 season.

AUSTIN GREGORY
Gregory, a sophomore from Roanoke, finished the 2013 season with 21 appearances and 45.2 innings pitched.  He finished with a 3-1 record, including two wins during the Maroons 6-1 stretch to end the regular season.  That final week of play included a save as well against Eastern Mennonite, in a game that clenched Roanoke's sixth seed in the ODAC Tournament.  Gregory ranks tied for first all-time in career saves with six.  For his outstanding play in that final week, he was also named ODAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week.  Gregory finished the season with 39 strikeouts, 19 runs off 38 hits, and an ERA of 2.96.

MARK MANTHE
Manthe, a senior from Blacksburg, ended his career at Roanoke with a Third-Team All-ODAC nod.  Manthe played in 33 games for the Maroons this season, compiling a batting average of .326.  In the 2013 season, he had 19 runs off of 42 hits and tallying 36 RBIs.  He ranked second on this year's squad with nine doubles.  Manthe also put up a team high five home runs.  Over four years of work, he ranks in the top-five in 11 all-time career records at Roanoke, including: games played (1st-131), games started (1st-128), at-bats (1st-485) and home runs (3rd-13).
