Baseball Drops Two ODAC Games to Washington and Lee
SALEM - The Roanoke College baseball team dropped a pair of Old Dominion Athletic Conference games to Washington & Lee University on Saturday, 3-0 and 7-0. The Maroons now have a record of 5-11, 1-7 in the ODAC, while the Generals sit with a mark of 12-6, 5-4 in the ODAC.

Washington and Lee posted the first run of the game as Riley Stout hit a solo home run in the top of the second to give the Generals an early 1-0 lead. In the next inning, Colton Campbell scored on a throwing error, putting W&L ahead by two. The Generals scored their final run in the top of the sixth as Drew Weprinsky hit an RBI single to right field, scoring Stout on the play. Washington and Lee picked up the win in the first game, 3-0.

Eight different Maroons tallied one hit each in the first game, totaling the team's eight hits. Cameron Holshouser pitched the complete game, giving up three runs off two hits, while striking out nine batters.

Washington and Lee was led by Colton Campbell and Riley Stout, each finishing with two hits. Stout scored two of the team's two runs in the game. Jake Rudolph was tabbed with the win, striking out two batters, while Cory Smith earned the save.

The Generals scored a few more runs in game two. Washington and Lee put up two in the first inning off RBI doubles by Campbell and Stout. Stout tallied an RBI in the top of the third inning as well, plating Campbell. The Generals scored two more in the top of the fifth on a two RBI double from Luke Myer. In the top of the ninth, W&L capped off the game with a home run from Keegan Dolan and another run scored by Campbell. Washington and Lee took game two, 7-0.

Roanoke was led by Devin Cassity, who went 2-4 in game number two. Five other Maroons tallied one hit each. Jacob McMillan was tabbed with the loss on 4.1 innings of work, giving up five runs off seven hits, while striking out five.

Keegan Dolan and Taylor Rowe each had three hits in the second game for W&L. Dolan and Colton Campbell led the team with three runs scored each. Luke Myer and Riley Stout tied for a team high two RBIs apiece. Tom Concklin earned the win with 7.2 innings pitched and four strikeouts.

The Maroons return to action on Sunday, March 23rd as they take on Guilford College on the road. That contest is scheduled for a 3:00 PM first pitch.
