Lynchburg scored another run in the top of the fifth, after a Roanoke throwing error.  The Maroons captured their final run of the game in the bottom of the sixth, as Pellitteri singled through the right side, scoring Oakey on the play.  Lynchburg led off the seventh with a double, putting a runner in scoring position.  Joe Rodgers singled, and aided by an error, Kenyon scored Lynchburg's seventh run.  In the top of the ninth, Lynchburg had the tying run at the plate, with a runner on second, Kenyon hit a fly ball to center field, where Cassity made a diving catch to save the game for the Maroons, as Roanoke won the contest 9-7.
