Roanoke Baseball Tops Greensboro 10-3
SALEM - The Roanoke College baseball team topped non-conference opponent Greensboro College 10-3 on Wednesday night.  The Maroons now have an overall record of 14-16, while The Pride sit with a mark of 5-27.

The Maroons got on the board early, putting up four runs in the first inning.  After the first three batters reached base on a single, walk and error, respectively, Will Decker came up and hit a two RBI double to left field, scoring Devin Cassity and Will Black.  Cam Cassady came up next to hit an RBI single to center field, bringing around Jacob Clifton for the third run of the inning.  Decker scored his own run after Lucas Nowlin had an infield out that allowed Decker to cross the plate.

After Greensboro scored two runs in the top of the third, cutting the deficit to two, Roanoke responded with three more runs in the bottom of the same inning.  Gavin Pellitteri hit a two RBI single up the middle, scoring Kevin Oakey and Cassady.  The next batter, Bradley Mattox, reached on an error, a diversion that allowed Pellitteri to score a run of his own.  After three innings, Roanoke led 7-2.  The Maroons scored another in the fourth after Pellitteri hit another RBI single to center field, this time scoring Oakey again.

The Pride's third run came as Dylan Brown hit an RBI double to center field, plating Kyle Willard on the play.  The Maroons brought two more runs across the plate in the bottom of the eighth, sealing the game, and picking up the 10-3 victory over non-conference opponent Greensboro College.

The Maroons were led in hitting by Gavin Pellitteri, who went 3-3 on the day, scoring one run with four RBIs.   Kevin Oakey and Devin Cassity each tallied two hits on the day, while Will Decker and Lucas Nowlin finished with two RBIs apiece.  Harrison Richards picked up the win, throwing six innings with nine strikeouts.  David Loudon earned his first save after three hitless innings, striking out four.
