The runs kept coming for both teams, as the Tigers scored four runs as a result of a pair of two, two-RBI doubles to the outfield by John Lloyd and Dustin Wiles. After the top of the third, Hampden Sydney led the Maroons 7-5. But, in the bottom of the Inning, Roanoke came on strong. In the top of the seventh, with runners on second and third, Will Black picked off Lloyd at third for the second out of the inning. The next batter, Wiles, hit a double down the line, which only scored one run, thanks to the heads up play by Black. In the top of the eighth, Sean Guida fired a laser of a throw from right field all the way to third base to throw out a potential scoring runner. Two batters later, Carneal hit a single to left field, scoring two runs, which could have been three without Guida's throw.

Hampden-Sydney's two runs in the eighth tied the game at 10-10. In the bottom of the eighth, With two outs, and Dan Brodeur on first as a pinch runner, Lucas Nowlin hit an RBI double to left field, bringing Brodeur all the way home from first to score the eventual winning run of the game.
