The Lead: Roanoke fell to Ferrum 12-8 in its last non-conference game on the regular season.

How it Happened:
  • Ferrum struck early in the bottom of the first inning after a two-RBI single by Ty Comer would put the Panthers up 2-0.
  • In the top of the third, Roanoke responded with a Craig Kiley two-RBI single up the middle to tie the game at 2-2.
  • Ferrum used four hits and one Roanoke error in the bottom of the third inning to score four runs and take a 6-2 lead.
  • In the top of the fifth, Kiley hit an RBI double to right field to collect his third RBI of the game and narrow Ferrum's lead to 6-3.
  • Ferrum would extend its lead in the bottom of the sixth thanks to a two-RBI double by Austin Winkles making the score 8-3.
  • Roanoke scratched across one more run in its half of the seventh inning after Will Black scored on a passed ball, but Ferrum was able to push across two more runs in the bottom of the seventh giving them a 10-4 lead.
  • In the eighth inning, Roanoke pushed across two runs in the top half, but Ferrum responded with two runs in the bottom half making the score 12-6.
  • The Maroons capped off all scoring in the top of the ninth inning after Collier Donald hit a two-RBI single to centerfield to make the score the eventual outcome of 12-8.
  • At the plate, Will Decker went 4-for-5 with two doubles and two runs scored. Sean Guida, Kiley and Donald all collected two hits each for the Maroons.
  • For Ferrum, Lucas Stevens, Ty Comer and Anderson Ramos all had three hits for the Panthers.
  • Matt Wilder picked up the win on the mound for Ferrum throwing six innings and Rawlings Cumbea was saddled with the loss for RC
