SALEM, Va. – Roanoke Head Baseball Coach Matt McGuire has announced the addition of Cam Cassady to his coaching staff.
A 2014 Roanoke graduate, Cassady will assist McGuire in all aspects of the RC program including all recruiting efforts, on the field instruction, including spearheading all the Maroons offensive efforts.
A Physics major while at Roanoke, Cassady returns to his alma mater after a five-year stint as a teacher and assistant coach at Benedictine College Preparatory in Richmond, Va. Cassady taught AP Calculus, Physics and Pre-Calculus while at Benedictine. Over his four years assisting the Varsity program the Cadets went 87-21 and won two VISAA Division 1 state championships.
Cassady played two years for the Maroons after transferring from the University of Alabama. He appeared in 65 career games and hit for a career average of .307. He had 75 career hits and 31 RBI for Roanoke.
