The Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) announced their 2021 All State Baseball teams on Wednesday afternoon. When the teams were announced, designated hitter Carter Plunkett was named to the 1st team while pitcher Will Turner earned 2nd team honors.

The awards keep coming for Plunkett after a sophomore season that would see the designated hitter post a .405 average with 49 hits, six home runs, 16 doubles, 37 RBI, 85 total bases, and a slugging percentage of .702, all ranking in the top 10 in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC). The Roanoke native was named 1st team All ODAC as well as being named to the 1st team of the D3baseball All South Region and the American Baseball Coaches Association All South Region teams.

Turner finished the 2021 campaign with a, perfect, 7-0 record. His seven wins were tied for tops in the ODAC as was his 1.000 winning percentage. Turner appeared in 13 games while making four starts in his 42.2 innings of work. He gave up 41 hits and only 15 earned runs to post an earned run average (ERA) of 3.16. Turner's ERA was 7th best in the league overall but his conference ERA of 2.35 was 4th in the conference. For his efforts, the sophomore was named to the All ODAC 2nd team.
