SALEM, Va. – Five Roanoke baseball players have been named to the Academic All-District Team by College Sports Communicators (CSC).

Jacob Bonzon, Conner Butler, Corey Coogan, Aiden Kuhle and Spencer Rhoads all received Academic All-District recognition from the CSC. To be eligible for this recognition, student-athletes must achieve a cumulative GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, and they must have appeared in at least half of their team's games.

The Maroons' quintet will advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. Academic All-Americans will be announced on June 7.

Bonzon, a sophomore outfielder, batted .349 this season and led the team with 52 runs and 20 stolen bases. He received a First Team All-ODAC selection when the conference awards were revealed last week.

Butler, a senior second baseman and another First Team all-conference pick, hit .324 with a team-best .625 slugging percentage and 51 runs batted in. He also smacked nine home runs in 45 games.

Coogan, a sophomore infielder, played in 24 games this spring. He went 11-for-44 at the plate and posted a .382 on-base percentage.

Kuhle, a senior pitcher, made 14 appearances and recorded a 3.51 earned-run average with four saves and a 2-4 record. He struck out 41 batters in 33.1 innings pitched.

Rhoads, a sophomore catcher, appeared in 30 contests and registered a .258 batting average in 66 at-bats.

The Maroons finished 28-17 overall and 16-6 in the ODAC, tying for third in the conference standings. Roanoke defeated Washington and Lee in an ODAC quarterfinal series before falling to Shenandoah on the second weekend of the conference tournament.
