BANNER ELK, N.C. -- Two Maroons took to the course on Saturday at the Lees-McRae College CX Event. Both Hays Edmunds and Rafe Johnson raced with Edmunds finishing sixth in a time of 34:14.9.

Race Report from Edmunds: "Training is starting to pay off and I'm happy to report I was 6th in the b/c collegiate category. This course was muddy, messy and chalk full of the true essence of cross. With some more work on muddy cornering and dismounting I'm hoping to represent Roanoke College well at the upcoming conference championship."
Race Report from Johnson: "This may have been my favorite race so far. There was mud everywhere, it was raining the whole time, and I fell off my bike frequently because the course was so slick! Having all kinds of obstacles made it so much fun. The mud pit was my favorite!! One thing for sure is that I'm going to have to start training a lot harder if I want to catch up to my teammates. I can't wait for the next race!"
