Ron Glowczynski is a volunteer mechanic and consultant for the Roanoke Maroons Cycling team. Glowczynski grew up in Edison, NJ, and started cycling in his junior year of high school. At that time, he started to work for a local bike shop to become a pro mechanic, and today operates American Flyers bicycle shop in Roanoke. Glowczynski started bicycle racing at Penn State in 1989 as a rookie, became team president 1989-1990, then was selected to represent PSU at the 1990 Collegiate National Road Race. After college, his parents moved to Roanoke which became home, and continued to compete in cycling with many wins and top ten finishes up through his current masters categories in elite mountain bike, gravel and road race disciplines.
