Roanoke falls to Lynchburg, 4-0 in ODAC Action
SALEM, Va—Roanoke fell to Lynchburg, 4-0 in ODAC action at Kerr Stadium this evening. The Maroons dropped to 2-8 this season, 2-2 in the ODAC while the Hornets improved to 10-2, 4-0 in conference play.
 
Lynchburg's Jenny Weir and Allie Weir scored in the first half to set the score at 2-0. On returning to the game, Allie Weir scored again, unassisted. Shelly Milks scored the last point for the Hornets on a penalty stroke.

Roanoke was out-shot, 41-2, 21-2 in shots on goal. Lynchburg owned a 13-3 advantage in penalty corners.
 
Cristina Scichilone (South Yarmouth, MA, Nauset Regional) had an excellent game in goal with 17 saves. Sarah Cates finished with two for the Hornets.
 
Lee Sheldon (Darien, CT, Darien) and Alex Broadbent (Pisgah Forest, NC, Carolina Day) each totaled one shot on goal. Jenny Weir finished the game with 15 shots, nine on goal followed by Allie Weir with nine shots, four on goal to lead Lynchburg.
 
The women travel to Randolph-Macon Saturday Oct. 10 to play at 1:00 pm.
