Four Maroons earn All-ODAC honors in Field Hockey
Four Roanoke field hockey players earned All-ODAC honors announced Monday afternoon. Cristina Scichilone (South Yarmouth, MA, Nauset Regional)was named First-Team All-ODAC followed by Lee Sheldon (Darien, CT, Darien)who made the second-team. Mariah Vietri (Jamestown, RI, Rocky Hill)and Jessica Perkins (Abington, PA, Abington)were tabbed honorable mention All-ODAC.
 
Schicilone stopped 134 shots this season which ranked her third in the ODAC. She had a 70% save percentage and is currently sixth all-time in career saves with 276.
 
Sheldon was named All-ODAC for the second-straight season. She started in all 16 games played while totaling 24 shots, 13 on goal for a 54.2% percentage. She added an assist on the season.
 
Vietri was named All-ODAC honorable mention for the third-straight season.  She finished the year second on the team in goals (4) while leading the team in points (10) along with teammate Perkins. She totaled a team-high 26 shots and 18 shots on goal for a 69.2% percentage. She scored the only two game-winners of the season for Roanoke. In addition, Vietri added two assists.
 
Perkins was named All-ODAC for the first time in her career. After leading the Maroons in assists as a freshman, she finished this fall as the team-leader in goals (5) and points (10) along with Vietri. In 16 starts, Perkins totaled 22 shots, 13 on goal for a 59.1% percentage.
 
The Maroons finished 2-14 on the season, 2-5 in the ODAC. Six of the 14 losses have been decided by a single goal.
