Lynchburg, Va. --- Roanoke fell to Lynchburg, 6-0 in ODAC action Saturday afternoon at Lynchburg. The Maroons dropped to 1-6, 0-2 in the ODAC, while the Hornets improved to 5-2, 1-0 in conference play.
Cristina Schicilone (South Yarmouth, MA, Nauset Regional) led Roanoke with a career-high 22 saves on the contest.
Shelly Milks and Haili Hartman led the way for the Hornets with two goals each. Kristina Morris finished with a goal and an assist.
Milks and Hartman got the scoring started for Lynchburg to make it 2-0 with three minutes to play in the first half. Kelli Williams then scored off a pass from Jenny Weir with 30 seconds remaining to put the Hornets up three going into the half. Morris, Hartman, and Milks all found the back of the cage in the second half.

Lee Sheldon (Darien, CT, Darien) recorded two defensive saves on the day, while Lianna Hachborn (Portland, ME, North Yarmouth Academy) was the only Maroon to put a shot on goal.
Lynchburg outshot Roanoke 52-2, including a 30-1 edge in shots on goal. The Hornets also held a 17-2 advantage in penalty corners on the day.
The women will host Stevenson Saturday Oct. 2nd. Game-time is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
