The Lead: Emilee Wooten had three goals and an assist to lift Roanoke 4-2 win over Randolph-Macon on Saturday. The win gives RC its 13th victory of the season, which is the most since the Maroons won 13 games in 2003.
How it Happened
- Roanoke got its first goal of the game just 4:33 in when Wooten scored an unassisted goal.
- The score stayed that way through halftime and until the 39:55-minute mark when Wooten scored again to give RC a 2-0 lead.
- R-MC rallied scoring at the 42:16 mark then just over a minute later to tie the game at 2-2.
- Roanoke responded back when Wooten set up Rebecca Schmidt for the eventual game-winner in the 59th minute.
- Wooten then notched the hat trick on a pass from Mallory Wainwright with just over two minutes to go in the game.
- Emma Clark made three saves in the cage for Roanoke which held a 21-9 edge in shots for the game.
