The Lead: The Maroons went on the road to Ferrum looking to win their fourth consecutive Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) game. Highlights:

  • Martha Hurley scored an unassisted goal just 19 seconds into the game.
  • At the 6:33 mark, Emilee Wooten scored off an assist from Hope Keller to make it a 2-0 lead. The duo teamed up again just over a minute later and Roanoke took a 3-0 lead into the second quarter.
  • After a scoreless second quarter, Roanoke got scores from Claudia Roncone and Wooten, both assisted by Grace Vernarelli, in the opening minute of the second half.
  • Two minutes later, Wooten scored her fourth goal of the evening to push the Maroon lead to 6-0.
  • Taylor von Schilling came into the game for Wooten and quickly added to the RC lead off Vernarelli's third helper of the night.
  • An unassisted goal by Abby McCusker would wrap up the scoring as Roanoke picked up the 8-0 ODAC win.
  • Madison Wingerter and Hannah Roerden each spent time in goal for the Maroons, but neither saw a shot on goal as the finally shot tally was 18-0 in favor of Roanoke.
