Wooten named to Senior Team by NFHCA

The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) announced their annual Division I, II, and III Senior Teams on Monday afternoon. Roanoke College senior Emilee Wooten was named as one of 60 members of the 2021 NFHCA Division III Senior Team.

All six NCAA Division III regions are represented on the list of 2021 honorees. The selected student-athletes were nominated by their NFHCA member coach and were chosen based on their career accomplishments.

Wooten wrapped up her record-breaking Roanoke College career this fall by posting 21 goals, four assists, 46 total points, and six game winning goals. For her career, Wooten holds all three Roanoke College offensive records. The Maryland native scored 74 goals to go with 36 assists and 184 total points all in her 83 games played.

The members of the 2021 Division III Senior Team were initially announced during a live video presentation featuring member coaches on Monday afternoon. In lieu of the traditional coach-led trophy presentation at the NFHCA Senior Games — which were cancelled due to limitations caused by the COVID-19 pandemic — coaches were given the opportunity to announce the name of their Senior Team honoree(s).
