Maroons Ranked in top-25 for Third-Straight Week

The men's basketball team is ranked #21 in this week's D3Hoops Top-25 Poll announced this morning. The Maroons are 14-2 on the season, 6-1 in the ODAC. The 14-2 record is the program's best start since the 1999-00 campaign.
Roanoke received 132 points in this week's poll, dropping the men three spots from last week's #18 ranking. The Maroons are the only ODAC team to be ranked, although league-foe Randolph-Macon received 21 votes.
Three-time ODAC Player of the Week Curtis Peery paces the Maroons with 19.1 ppg, 7.3 rpg, and 86% free-throw percentage. Senior Drew Gaeng leads the team with 47 assists and is second on the team with 21 steals. He has also drained a team-high 25 three pointers. Parrish Walker is second in scoring (11.0 ppg), second in assists (39) and leads the team with 33 steals.
The Maroons went 2-1 last week as they defeated Guilford, 80-76, and Bridgewater, 79-66, before falling to Washington & Lee in the final seconds, 66-68. The loss ended Roanoke's winning streak at 13 games and marked the team's first loss at the Bast Center this season.
Roanoke will travel to Randolph College on Wednesday, Jan. 21 to compete against the Wildcats for the first time in school history. Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
