SALEM, Va. --- Ohio Wesleyan defeated Roanoke, 74-55 in the second game of the Morris Cregger Invitational on Saturday evening. The loss dropped the Maroons to 4-6 while the Battling Bishops improved to 3-7 on the season.
Hot second-half shooting from Ohio Wesleyan turned a six-point game at halftime into nearly a blowout as both teams were able to clear their benches in the Battling Bishops third win of the season.
The Battling Bishops connected on 51.7-percent of their field goals in the second half, including a 6-of-9 showing from beyond the arc, as they moved out to as much as a 23-point lead over the Maroons.
Tim Brady dropped in a game-high 25 points on 11-of-15 shooting overall and 3-of-4 from deep. Dillon McBride chipped in 13 markers while Patt Pellerite notched nine points and 10 rebounds (three offensive). Eric Easley handed out five assists.
For Roanoke, Logan Singleton (Roanoke, VA, Hidden Valley)made his first four shots of the game on a the way to a team-best 13 points and seven boards. Kendrick Chittock (Auburn, OH, University School)notched a double-double with 10 points and a game-high 11 boards (four offensive). Parrish Walker (Greensboro, NC, Dudley)and Matt Crizer (Covington, VA, Alleghany)each dished out four assists.
OWU will take on Defiance in the championship game at 1:00 p.m. tomorrow. Roanoke will square off with Ferrum in the consolation game at 3:00 p.m.
