Maroons Fall to Ferrum in Final Tourney Contest
SALEM, Va. --- Ferrum College's Daryl Hart knocked down six three-pointers on his way to a tournament-high 27 points to help the Panthers defeat Roanoke College, 78-70, in the consolation game of the 2010 Morris Cregger Invitational. Ferrum improves to 6-6 on the season while the loss drops Roanoke's record to 4-7.

Hart collected 16 points in the second half, leading a Panthers' attack at shot 64-percent from the field in the final 20 minutes of action. Roanoke couldn't quite find the range on this day, shooting just 32.5-percent for the game,
but the Maroons did take 19 more shots than their opponents, which allow them to claw back into the contest near the end of the first half and into the second stanza.

#Melvin Felix# led Roanoke with 16 points, including a 6-for-8 showing from the foul line. He added five rebounds and three assists. #Parrish Walker# added 12 points, three boards and a trio of assists. #Kendrick Chittock# pulled down a game-high nine rebounds to go with four points. Chittock earned all-tournament team honors for his play over the two days, which included a double-double (10 points, 11 rebounds) against Ohio Wesleyan College on Saturday night.

Hart shot 8-of-13 overall from the field while also posting a team-best seven rebounds. He represented the Panthers on the all-tournament team. Nick English recovered from a foul-ridden opening game with 18 points and six boards against the Maroons. Jerrell Wade chipped in 11 points to go with four boards and a game-high seven assists.

Roanoke returns to the hardwood on Wednesday, January 6, when the Maroons welcome Emory & Henry College to Salem. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m. in the C. Homer Bast Center.
