Game Notes vs. Randolph - Men's Basketball
Roanoke will look to gain ground in the conference standings and go over .500 as they battle Randolph College in a big ODAC contest. Tip-off is scheduled for Wednesday night, Jan. 19 at 7 p.m. held at the Bast Center.

Roanoke is 1-1 against the Wildcats, winning the first ever meeting in 2008-09 (76-66) and fell 81-76 last winter in an overtime thriller. Melvin Felix (Caguas, Puerto Rico, Salem) and Corey Poindexter (Pulaski, VA, Pulaski County/Hargrave) each had 13 points in the loss. In the win two seasons ago, then-freshman Logan Singleton notched a career-high 17 points, followed by Felix with 16. Felix averages 14.5 points against the Wildcats for his career.
About the Maroons
The Maroons are currently 7-7 overall while posting a 3-3 mark in conference play. Felix (17.9 ppg) is tied for third in the ODAC in scoring and enters the game 11 points shy of becoming the 32nd player in the 98-year history of Roanoke Basketball to score 1,000 points for his career. His 88 career three-pointers ranks 11th on the all-time list at Roanoke.
Kwasi Amponsah (Woodbridge, VA, Garfield) (10.2 ppg) leads the team in steals (26) while averaging 3.3 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game. Matt Crizer (Covington, VA, Alleghany) (9.3 ppg) is 13th in career three-pointers made with 84 and is averaging 3.7 boards and two assists per game. He recently poured in 17 points against #2 Virginia Wesleyan last weekend.
Scouting the Wildcats
Randolph (10-4, 4-2 ODAC) is off to their best start in the short span of the men's basketball program, which starts only four years ago. While only 3-2 at home, the Wildcats boasts a 6-1 record on the road.
Colton Hunt (15.7 ppg) leads the team in scoring, field goal percentage (51.3%) and steals (40) while averaging 4.8 rebounds and a team-best 2.4 assists per game. Roanoke native and Cave Spring product Pete Hamilton (8.8 ppg) leads the Wildcats in three-pointers (20) and second in assists with 31. Derrick Woods-Morrow (8.6 rpg) posts team-bests in rebounds (8.5 rpg) and blocked shots (15). He has led his team in the rebounding column in 12 of 14 games this season.
