Roanoke Falls to #6 Virginia Wesleyan, 92-60 on the Road
VIRGINIA BEACH, Va--- Roanoke fell to #6 Virginia Wesleyan, 92-60 Saturday afternoon at the Jane P. Batten Center. The Maroons fell to 8-12, 4-8 in conference play, while the Marlins improved to 19-1, 10-1 in the ODAC.

VWC buried eight three-pointers on the contest and shot 53% from the floor. The Marlins also scored 21 points off Maroon turnovers.

Virginia Wesleyan raced out to a 19-7 lead just seven minutes into play. Roanoke stayed within range for much of the first half, but lost control in the second stanza. The Marlins reeled off a 22-9 run midway through the second period to take a 77-46 lead.

Logan Singleton (Roanoke, VA, Hidden Valley)
and Matt Crizer (Covington, VA, Alleghany) led the Maroons with 14 points each. Singleton added team-highs of seven boards and four assists. It was his sixth consecutive game scoring in double digits. Melvin Felix (Caguas, Puerto Rico, Salem) chipped in 12points on the day.

Wesleyan finished with five players in double figures. Chris Astorga paced the Marlins with 16 points, while Chris Teasley finished with 13. D.J. Woodmore tossed in 13 markers. Donald Vaughn and Ed Roberts both added 11 points for the home team.

Roanoke looks to bounce back tomorrow as they travel to Newport News to take on Christopher Newport. Tip-off is scheduled for a 2:00 p.m.
