Men's Basketball Season Ends at Randolph in ODAC Tournament
LYNCHBURG --- Roanoke fell to Randolph, 69-62 in a hard fought contest in the first round of the ODAC Tournament on Tuesday evening. The Maroons season comes to an end with a 7-19 record.

The WildCats, who improved to 13-13, advance to the ODAC Quarterfinals to take on Guilford at the Salem Civic Center on Friday, Feb. 24 at 6 p.m. They take the season series, 2-1 against the visiting Maroons.

The Maroons took an early lead before Randolph went on a run to take a 12-point advantage, 31-19 with just over five minutes left in the half. Down 15 just before halftime, Kwasi Amponsah hit a deep three-pointer to cut the deficit to 38-26.

Coming out the gate in the second half, the Maroons outscored the WildCats, 14-6 to make it a four-point game, 44-40 with 12:41 to go.
After a jumper by Hunt gave the WildCats a seven-point lead, the men wouldn't let their opponent go away, going on an 8-1 run as Zach Barrett's three-pointer put the Maroons within one, 55-54 with 6:53 remaining.

The game remained close until Randolph sealed the game hitting 6-of-8 free-throws down the stretch to improve to .500 on the season.
Roanoke shot 45.5% overall from the floor and 4-of-15 from beyond the arc while both teams totaled 34 rebounds. Randolph held the edge in points off turnovers (20-8) while RC outscored the WildCats off the bench, 17-9.

Colton Hunt was the story of the night for Randolph, pouring in a game-best 26 points and nine rebounds, which narrowly missed a double-double. He shot 11-of-14 form the line and had three steals.

Amponsah led the Maroons with 20 points, followed by Daniel Eacho who tossed in nine points and pulled down four rebounds. Ethan Humphries provided a spark with a season-best eight points and three assists.

Logan Singleton pulled down a team-best 11 boards in his final collegiate game. He became the 33rd player in Roanoke Basketball history to score over 1,000 points while totaling nearly 100 blocked shots and over 500 rebounds. Fellow senior Adam Kessler contributed four points and five rebounds.

Derrick Woods-Morrow chipped in 13 points and nine rebounds to pace Randolph. Mike Ehilegbu had 12 counters, in addition to six boards and four assists.
