Roanoke Winter Sports Athletes Recognized on 2012 ODAC/StellarOne Winter Sportsmanship Team
FOREST, Va. --- The Old Dominion Athletic Conference is pleased to announce the 2012 ODAC/StellarOne Sportsmanship Teams in each of five winter sports sponsored by the conference. This marks the third year the league has recognized these fine student-athletes for their excellence in sportsmanship.

"I am pleased that the conference recognizes student-athletes for their focus on fair play and sportsmanship," explained ODAC Commissioner Brad Bankston. "The conference prides itself on positive sportsmanship and encouraging student-athletes to lead by example. Each one of the honorees has been selected by the coaches in recognition of their conduct in the arena. My hat is off to these student-athletes - thanking them for the example they set for all of us."

Men's Basketball - Ethan Humphries
Humphries started in all 26 of the Maroons contests in the 2011-12 season. Humphries led the team in assists with 2.5 per game. He also totalled 2.1 rebounds per game and finished the season with 19 steals. Humphries netted a season high eight points in the Maroons final game of the season against Randolph College (2/21)

Women's Basketball - Rachel Dellehunt
Dellahunt started in 24 of the 25 contests she played for Roanoke in 2011-12. She finished the season fourth on the team in scoring (6.4 ppg), second in assists (2.2 apg) and fourth in free-throw percentage (.667). She scored a season-high 17 points on February 17th as the Maroons played Randolph-Macon. Dellahunt reached double figures two other times in the season as well.

Men's Indoor Track - Dan Zimmerman
Zimmerman raced distance for the Maroons in the Indoor Track season. At the Vince Brown Invitational at Christopher Newport, Zimmerman posted a personal best time in the 3000 meter race. At the VMI Relays, Zimmerman posted a time in the mile that was good enough for seventh place.

Women's Indoor Track - Meagan Tolley
Tolley is an All-ODAC third team honoree (triple jump) for the winter season. She shined at the VMI Relay meet as she placed in all four evenths she competed. The junior competed in four events and placed in all of them. Tolley showed how she won the 2010 ODAC hurdle title with a blazing 9.09 to win the 55 high hurdles. Less than an hour later, she placed fourth in the 55 dash. She grabbed second in the triple jump (34'4") and was third in the long jump with a personal-best of 16'8".

The ODAC has a rich tradition in promoting fair play and good sportsmanship in each sport across the league. The character of the conference's student-athletes on and off the field is a representation of not only the individuals and teams, but also the institutions they play for.

"All of us at StellarOne Bank are excited to be an official corporate sponsor, touching the lives of so many in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference," said Angela Ross, Chief Branding Officer for StellarOne.
