Game Notes vs. Furman - Men's Basketball
The Roanoke Men's Basketball team heads to Greenville, SC today to face Furman University in an Exhibition matchup against the NCAA Division I team. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. held at the Timmons Arena in Greenville.

Series Information
This will be the first ever meeting between the two teams. Furman is the third Division I school that the Maroons have played in the last three years, in an effort for Coach Moir's teams to face a different level of competition before Division III play begins.

Scouting the Paladins
Tonight's game will count as the first regular season contest for the Paladins, while only being an exhibition for the Maroons. Furman recently encountered Belmont Abbey in exhibition play, where the Paladins were victorious 85-73.

Sophomore Charlie Reddick and freshman Dominic Early both came off the bench in the contest to score 21 and 22 points, respectively. Senior Bobby Austin and junior Bryant Irwin finished with 10 and 13 points, respectively. With players coming off the bench scoring high numbers along with the starters, the Maroons are going to have to stay on their toes for the full 40 mintues.

About the Maroons
Roanoke (12-15, 7-9 ODAC in 2010-11) is looking to have it's first season above .500 since 2008-09. The returning players for the Maroons have spent the off season getting in shape and preparing for the tough task ahead of them. In the ODAC pre-season poll, the Maroons were picked to finish ninth. Logan Singleton enters the 2011 season more prepared than ever. Singleton really broke out on both sides of the floor in the later part of the season last year. In February alone, he averaged 22.4 points and 10.2 rebounds per game while shooting 55.1% overall, 9-of-19 from three-point range (47.4%) and 85% from beyond the free throw line.
