The Lead: Roanoke scores 97 points in the win over Hampden-Sydney thanks to a balanced scoring attack that featured six Maroons in double-figure.

How it Happened:
  • With 6:29 left in the first half, a Joey Miller three-pointer made the score 35-29 and sparked a 13-3 run that would send Roanoke into the half with a 52-40 lead.
  • At the 8:42 mark, Hampden-Sydney would cut the lead to seven, but that would be as close as it would get to coming back in the game.
  • A 10-3 run by RC would lead them to the eventual 97-80 victory. The 97 points given up by Hampden-Sydney is the most the Tigers have given up all season.
  • Carter Wright led the way for RC with 16 points and four steals. Roanoke also saw five other players in double-figures on the day including Cameron Smith (14), Joey Miller (12), John Caldwell (12), Eli Sumpter (11) and C.J. Miles (11).
  • Coming off the bench, Caldwell led the Maroons in rebounds with seven. Seth Bradley also pitched in with six.
  • RC was 31-of-58 (53.4%) from the field and was 13-of-28 (46.4%) behind the arc. The Maroons also capitalized on free throws by shooting 22-of-26 (84.6%) at the charity stripe.
  • Leading Hampden-Sydney was Guilherme Guimaraes with 20 points on 8-of-11 shooting.
