Three Maroons Earn All-ODAC Honors, Moir Named Coach of the Year
Salem, Va. – Coach Moir leads the way for the Maroons as he is tabbed with ODAC Coach of the Year honors. Roanoke had three first-time recipients of All-ODAC honors. Joey Miller was named First-Team All-ODAC and Cameron Smith and John Fitchett were each named Third-Team All-ODAC.

Moir, in his 27th season guiding the Maroons men's basketball program, enjoys his second ODAC top coaching honor, pairing this award with the one he earned in 1994. Picked to finish 10th in the ODAC preseason poll, Moir has led his Maroons to a 19-6 overall record.  That includes an 11-5 league mark, resulting in the third seed in the upcoming ODAC Tournament.  Roanoke was ranked in the D3hoops.com Top-25 for several weeks, twice reaching a rating of 20th in NCAA Division III.  Moir is the ODAC's all-time leader in career victories, currently boasting a 428-292 (.594) record.

Miller, from Yorktown, Va. was named First-Team All-ODAC and was the only sophomore in the league on the First-Team. The sophomore led the Maroons in scoring and was fourth in the ODAC, averaging 16.4 points per game and was fifth in the ODAC in field goal percentage making 54.3% of his shots. Miller also led the league in free throws made with 140 and was fourth in free throw percentage sitting at 80.9%. Statistically, Miller's best game came on Feb. 17th against Lynchburg where he had 31 points making 12-of-14 shots from the field while dishing out five assists and grabbing six rebounds. Against Washington & Lee he would score 19 points including the final six points of the game to give the Maroons the 93-92 victory.

Smith, from Lexington, N.C. picks up Third-Team All-ODAC honors. The senior averaged 11.6 points per game and 5.6 rebounds per game. He also led the ODAC in steals with 47 while averaging 1.9 per game. Smith had three double-doubles on the year and also scored over 30 points on two occasions. Against, Shenandoah on Dec. 10th he scored 30 points on 13-of-20 shooting while recording six rebounds and grabbing three steals. On Feb. 17th against Lynchburg, Smith had a season-high 32 points and brought down 10 rebounds.

Fitchett, from Williamsburg, Va. was tabbed with Third-Team All-ODAC honors. The junior forward was second for the Maroons and ninth in the ODAC in scoring, averaging 14.0 points per game. Fitchett was also sixth in the league in field goals made with 130 and seventh in field goal percentage making 53.1% of his shots. His season-high came in the first game of the season on Nov. 11th against Lebanon Valley where he scored 27 points on 12-of-16 shooting and grabbed five rebounds. Fitchett's lone double-double of the season came on Jan. 25th against Shenandoah where he scored 16 points and grabbed 10 rebounds.
