The Lead: Sixth-seeded Randolph topped third-seeded Roanoke 74-62 in the Quarterfinals of the 2016 Old Dominion Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Tournament.

How it Happened:
  • Roanoke finishes the season with a 19-7 record. The 19 wins is the most victories for the Maroons since the 2008-09
  • The Maroons shot just 34.3% in the first half, making just 12-of-35 shots from the field, including just a 6-of-23 mark from beyond the arc.
  • Randolph on the other hand connected on 46.9% of their first stanza shots helping the WildCats to a 38-31 edge at the break.
  • A Carter Wright layup made the score 45-41 Randolph just under five minutes into the second-half.
  • Randolph would score the next 10 points, taking a 55-41 lead following a Zach Desgain bucket with 12:48 to go in the game.
  • With the WildCats leading by 11 points with six minutes to play, Roanoke rallied by scoring six straight points to cut its deficit to five but that would be as close as the Maroons would get as Randolph scored seven of the next nine points to seal the game.
  • Joey Miller had 14 points to lead RC, while Cameron Smith finished with 12 points.
  • Zach Desgain led all scorers with 20 points and was one of four WildCats in double-figures.
