FOREST, Va. – Roanoke College's John Caldwell has been named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the second time this season as the league announced its weekly awards on Monday.

Caldwell, a sophomore from Spartanburg, S.C., put together two strong outings in the Maroons 1-1 week against conference competition. Caldwell shot 59.3-percent for the week, beginning with a 7-of-12 showing that included 3-of-7 from deep for 18 points in a 73-57 setback at Guilford. He chipped in seven rebounds and a pair of blocked shots.

Caldwell helped the Maroons respond for a 78-74 triumph over Hampden-Sydney with a career-high 32 points and 10 rebounds for his fourth double-double of the season. He helped the Maroons recover from a 13-point second-half deficit by shooting 9-of-15 from the field including 6-of-8 from three-point range. He was also 8-of-9 from the foul line and blocked two shots. For the season, Caldwell is second in the ODAC in points scored (242) and scoring average (20.2 ppg). He is second in field goals made (82) and three-pointers made (37) while leading the league in minutes played (34.3 mpg).

Roanoke will be back in action at home on Wednesday when it hosts Lynchburg at 7:00 p.m.
