The Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) released the 2020-21 ODAC Men's Basketball preseason poll on Wednesday afternoon. Roanoke was picked to finish fourth in the poll, as voted on by the league's coaches.

The Maroons enter the season off a run in the 2020 ODAC Men's Basketball Tournamnet that saw Roanoke upset Guilford College (73-66) in the quarterfinals before falling to eventual champion Randolph-Macon (61-60) at the buzzer.

The 2020-21 edition of the RC hoops team got  late start to the season due to the COVID-19 pandemic when they hosted Greensboro College on Tuesday, January 19th. The game with the Pride was the lone non-conference game scheduled with ODAC play beginning on Saturday, January 23rd with a visit from Hampden-Sydney. The conference schedule features 12 games, six to be played in the Cregger Center. In addition to the Tigers, Roanoke is scheduled to host Ferrum, Emory & Henry, Washington and Lee, Randolph-Macon, and Bridgewater.
