The Lead: After picking up a home win over Ferrum on Tuesday night, the Roanoke men's basketball team took to the road with a trip to Lynchburg to face the Hornets in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) action. The Maroons opened the game with an 11-0 run, not allowing Lynchburg to score for the game's first eight minutes. RC would take their five-point halftime lead and build it to as many as 20 during the second half as they finished off the Hornets for the 71-54, ODAC, win.

How it Happened:

  • Efosa U-Edosomwan scored the first four points of the night and eight of the Maroon's 11 in in their game opening run.
  • After Lynchburg answered, a Tripp Greene three-pointer once again pushed the Roanoke advantage to double figures, 14-4.
  • With 5:00 to play in the first half, Kasey Draper made a jump shot to give RC a 23-12 edge. However, the Hornets would close the half with a 9-3 surge to make it 26-21 at the break.
  • Greene started the second half with another from long range and when Nick Price drained a pair of free throws, the Roanoke lead was back to double-digits, 35-25, with 16-minutes left to play.
  • Over the next five minutes, Roanoke would look to put Lynchburg away and when Draper scored another layup, the Maroons had built a 49-29 lead. Lynchburg would cut the deficit to 12 but could get no closer as Roanoke closed out their hosts for the 71-54, ODAC, victory.
  • U-Edosomwan completed the double-double with 20 points and 10 rebounds. Draper netted a team high 21 with Greene adding 15, including 4-7 from three-point distance. Ethan Rohan grabbed 10 boards and Price finished with six assists and three steals.

Up next: Roanoke will wrap up their three-game week when they host Hampden-Sydney on Saturday at 2:00pm.
