Kasey Draper named CoSIDA Academic All-District

The College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) announced their Academic All District team for men's basketball on Thursday afternoon. Roanoke College guard/forward Kasey Draper was named Academic All District by the organization. The junior will now move to the nationwide voting for the CoSIDA Academic All American team.

The 2021-22 Academic All-District Men's and Women's Basketball Teams, selected by CoSIDA, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CoSIDA Academic All-America program separately recognizes basketball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

First-team Academic All-District honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced in mid-March.

This season, Draper has posted stellar numbers, averaging 20.5 points and 6.8 rebounds per game. He has twice been named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Men's Basketball Player of the Week while also being named to the D3hoops.com National Team of the Week on a pair of occasions. Heading into the final regular season game of his junior campaign, Kasey sits just eight points away from becoming the latest member of the Roanoke College Men's Basketball 1,000Point Club. In the classroom, the Roanoke native boasts a 4.00 Grade Point Average (gpa) in Business Administration. Draper is a member of Omicron Delta Kappa (Leadership Honor Society) and Delta Mu Delta (Business Honor Society).
