The College Sports Information Directors Association (CoSIDA) announced their 2022 Academic All American teams for basketball on Tuesday afternoon. Roanoke College guard/forward Kasey Draper was named Academic All-American 2nd Team. Draper, a junior from Roanoke, was the only non-senior or graduate student to be named to the 1st or 2nd teams.

Earlier in the year Draper was named 1st team Academic All-District by the national organization. This past season, Draper was second in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) averaging 20.5 points per game. In addition, Kasey was seventh in the league with 6.8 rebounds per outing while shooting 47..9% from the field and 70.3% from the free throw line. Twice during the 2021-22 season, Draper was named ODAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week as well as D3hoops.com National Team of the Week. At season's end, Kasey was named to the All-ODAC 1st team after earning All-ODAC honors after the 2020-21 season. In the final regular season game of the season, Draper became the latest member of the Roanoke College Men's Basketball 1,000 Point Club.

In the classroom, the Roanoke native boasts a 4.00 Grade Point Average (GPA) in Business Administration. Draper is a member of Omicron Delta Kappa (Leadership Honor Society) and Delta Mu Delta (Business Honor Society). In 2020-21, Draper was named Academic All-State by the Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID).

Draper is one of only two of the 15 members of the Academic All-America Division III men's basketball teams to boast a perfect 4.0 GPA in their undergraduate work or graduate school. The five members of the first team have an average GPA of 3.82, with the entire men's team holding a collective average GPA of 3.83.
