Men's golf finishes sixth at ODAC Championships

Amherst, Va. --- The Roanoke College golf team finished sixth in the ODAC Championships held at Poplar Grove Golf Club. The team finished with a combined score of 950 as Washington & Lee won the title.
The men finished with a final round combined score of 315, just two strokes behind W&L with 313 on the day. Mark Ashby and Chris Devine each finished their final rounds with a 77 which was their best rounds of the tournament. Ryan Robertson fired an 80, which was the lowest of his successful three-rounds. Casey Fallon had an 82 while Patrick Guzi shot an 84 to round out the Maroons scoring on Monday.
The team itself improved each day with an opening round score of 320, a score of 314 in round two and ended with a 313 in the final round.
Robertson led the Maroons over the long weekend with a final individual score of 231, followed by Ashby, who fired a 236 in the Championships. Fallon (241), Devine (243) and Fuzi (255) finished with their respective scores.
Two golfers made second-team All-ODAC as Ashby and Robertson earned the honors. For Ashby, it's his second conference honor as he was named honorable mention All-ODAC a year ago.
