ROANOKE NAMES STEPHEN ANDERSON NEW GOLF COACH

SALEM, VA--Roanoke College Director of Athletics Scott Allison announced the hiring of Stephen Anderson as the college's new head coach of golf on Monday afternoon. Anderson will begin his appointment with the college's athletic department immediately. Anderson replaces Mike Flanary who resigned earlier in the summer to dedicate his focus on his business endeavors.

Upon the announcement, Allison proclaimed his faith in Anderson to redevelop the Roanoke golf team into a success in all aspects of life, “Steve has great contacts in the world of golf. These contacts will serve our student-athletes well, both on and off the course.”

The co-founder of Golf Mart, one of the largest retail golf stores in Southwest Virginia, Anderson has been the General Manager at the store for several years. Prior to his duties at that store, Anderson was the Manager at Roanoke, VA's The Golf Shoppe and prior to that job was an Account Executive at Bankers Life and Casualty in Roanoke.
